Research
We are leading a diverse array of research projects aimed at tackling some of the most complex challenges in project management, sustainability, and resilience.
Generative AI for Construction & Project Risk Management: We are harnessing the transformative power of Generative AI to revolutionize risk management in construction projects. This initiative explores AI-driven strategies for identifying, modeling, and mitigating risks, setting a new benchmark for efficiency and decision-making in the industry.
Measuring Risk Diversification Across Project Portfolios: This project provides insights into managing interdependencies within project portfolios. By quantifying diversification benefits, it empowers organizations to optimize risk distribution and improve resilience across interconnected projects.
Appraisal Framework for Resource Projects Based on Localization of the UN SDGs: This initiative aims to develops a robust framework for aligning resource projects with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By integrating sustainability benchmarks into project appraisals, it ensures long-term environmental, social, and economic benefits.
Post-Disaster Resilience of Rural Transportation Networks: Post-Disaster Emergency Response is one of the most constrained extremes of projects. This project investigates the resilience of rural transportation networks following disasters. It aims to enhance recovery strategies and ensure the sustainability of lifeline systems for affected communities. This multi-disciplinary research is a collaboration with a transportation engineering faculty member.
Enablers, Practices, and Impacts of Canadian Extractive Resource Projects in Africa and South America: This comparative analysis examines Canadian resource projects in Africa and South America, identifying enablers and impacts to guide ethical and sustainable practices in global extractive industries. This trans-disciplinary research is a collaboration with a political science faculty member.
